Scarsdale is home. Our shop is on Overhill Road, minutes from the village and its Tudor railway station. The town is one of the best-preserved 1920s and 1930s suburbs in the country: Tudor Revival, colonial and stone houses on winding streets under a heavy canopy, with the garages that were built alongside them.
Those garages are the reason we know this village at house-number resolution. Many are detached and set behind the house, reached by a short driveway cut into a slope with a hedge on one side and a wall on the other. Openings are narrow, headers are low, and the framing is original. Fitting a modern door and opener into that takes low-headroom track, side-mounted operators and legacy hardware as routine rather than as special cases — and it takes measuring the building at several points rather than trusting a number from a plan drawn in 1928.
